Partnering with JR West (Japan)

Last month, Gambarr Malaysia welcomed Mr.Kenichiro Oue, an excellent employee from West Japan Railway; through the Asia Business Leader (ABL), a Project initiated by Kyoto University in 2012 to their own team.

The project is designed to be part of a succession plan of multinational corporations (MNCs) in Japan who wish to develop future leaders among their lower to mid-level executives.

As part of the program, the participants of the ABL project will conduct a business research and consultancy project while attached to a company outside of Japan. Since 2013, there have been 32 ABL participants that have done their research attachment phase in Malaysia in a variety of industries ranging from Islamic Banking and Finance to Real Estate, and also in Information Technology.

This year, INCEIF (The Global University of Islamic Finance) accepted an ABL researcher, Mr. Kenichiro Oue from West Japan Railway, to be attached to INCEIF to conduct a business research and consultancy for a company in Malaysia.

Mr. Oue’s research attachment will be supervised by the coordinator of the ABL project in Malaysia, Dr. Zabeda Abdul Hamid, who is an academic staff of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

Mr. Oue has been selected to work at Gambarr Malaysia who will be hosting him at their corporate office in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Mr. Oue will be conducting research on “How to increase the number of Muslim travellers in Japan” and in the meantime, learn the ropes of what makes Gambarr Malaysia’s social media work stand out from others in the industry. Founder of Gambarr, Anusha is glad to have Mr.Ken be part of her team. “He is intelligent, hardworking and never fails to give great ideas when coming up with strategies during team discussions. We’re excited to be part of this project and will do our best in making sure Mr.Ken’s time with us is beneficial for his researching needs and in helping him understand muslim travellers better.”

Due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions, Mr.Ken will only be able to join the team physically once travel to and from Japan is allowed, in the meantime Google Meet will have to do for now.
